ABOUT THE SONG CIRCLE
The Community Song Circle is held twice per month from 6:00pm - 7:15pm in the Moon Room behind SolSeek Yoga Studio
@ 25 E De La Guerra St. in Santa Barbara CA.
I open the circle with some gentle guided movement to 'tune' the instrument (the body!) before we begin singing together.
Then I guide the group in some easy vocal warmups and toning.
We usually work on two songs during the circle. The first song is selected with the purpose of igniting playfulness, group awareness, rhythm and timing. Sometimes this first song comes from musical theatre, sometimes it's a section from a pop song, and sometimes it's made up in the moment! The second song is selected from a wide range of medicine melodies, ceremonial, or transformational songs from various lineages.
All songs are taught call and response style, so there is no need to worry about reading sheet music or memorization. There is also no need to have any prior experience in singing to attend this circle. This offering is open and welcoming to all who want to join.
This circle is offered on a sliding scale from $5-$15.
