Somatic Activation
Every Saturday, 12:30 - 1:30 pm

Somatic Activation is an all levels movement and voice class. This practice focuses on strengthening internal and external awareness, accessing more creative movement pathways, and empowering the ability to communicate and express oneself through the body. A somatic practice includes the sensations, emotions and feelings in the body as an essential part of physical expression and health—let us work towards befriending all the layers of our humanity in our movement. This practice also involves playfulness as a core concept! When did laughter and joyful experimentation leave us, and how can we bring it back? The hope is that each student leaves feeling alive, connected, and inspired to move in new ways.
This is not a yoga based practice. We spend the first 45 minutes of the class moving around the room, and the last 15 minutes of class seated or laying down. A yoga mat is not required, but it welcome if you prefer.

Every Second Friday of the Month, 6 - 8 pm A Private Residence in Santa Barbara Join us for an evening of ritual, self-expression and co-creation. As you cross the threshold into our movement space, you will be gently guided to unwind, let go and arrive in full presence. Journey through the elements as intuitive movement guides your way; weaving through the cycles of letting go, calling in, and integrating through celebration and play. |
